A downloadable map

Map + scenario + 120 custom nations for Age of Civilizations 2 by Łukasz Jakowski.

The map also includes some bordering Estonian and Lithuanian provinces in case someone would like to make a scenario where these states are participants - e.g. Latvian War of Independence. In the bundled scenario they are set to uncoloniseable wasteland, but this can be changed for a different scenario.

Please feel free to use this map for your own creations, but don't forget to credit the original.

Install instructions

To install the map+scenario, two things have to be done : (1) moving the map files (2) telling the game where to look for them. Steps 2 and 4 are moving the files, 3 and 5 are editing the Age_Of_Civilizations files to make the game recognize them.

  1. Download and unzip the archive.
  2. Move everything from the \map in this archive to \Age of Civilizations II\map
  3. Copy and paste the text from Age_Of_Civilizations file in this archive to Age_Of_Civilizations file in \Age of Civilizations II\game\civilizations_editor;
    (open it with Notepad++ for example)
  4. Move all folders from \custom_civs to Age of Civilizations II\game\civilizations_editor
  5.  Finally, open Age_Of_Civilizations file in Age of Civilizations II\map and add an new entry for folder "Latvia" (see picture below)

! As an alternative to (3), you can just replace Age_Of_Civilizations file in \Age of Civilizations II\game\civilizations_editor with the one provided here,
but this will erase your custom civilizations made in the editor. (Someone should really make a utility/tool to add custom civs more easily)
